Adventure Forty-six: Children of the Gods

This is the story of my game of Civilization IV Adventure Forty-six from Realms Beyond Civilization.

I happen to know that this game idea was borne from a markedly different idea that I pitched to Sullla. Sullla liked it, I suggested that he make the map so I could compete... and then he went in a completely different direction with the mapmaking and the "no new improvements" rule. crazyeyes.gif - 1kb We may run my original proposal later.

The original intent was to be a Gentle adventure, as per Twinkletoes' request in the forum, hence the Prince difficulty. With the worker restriction, I'm not so sure it's still so Gentle, but we'll see what happens.

Also, I'm ever-so-slightly spoiled. Sullla told me that the map was created by letting the AI run for 200 turns. So I know there won't be a lot of mature villages and towns, that the ancients did not build lumbermills and forest preserves, or get as far as improving coal or oil.

The natural path is to go conquering, of course. Prince difficulty means minimal defense. We have a decent UU. And we know there is metal right at the start by that invisible mine (the ancients would not have discovered uranium; an outside chance of coal.) But I'm also thinking about culture, I might like to build up some big cities under these unusual map rules.
